Managing Category Display Order

For each category, it is possible to provide a "Channel Display Order".

By default, a Channel Display Order ID is provided that increments as you create new categories. If it is necessary to change the order in which categories are displayed in stores, you can edit this ID to change the Display order.

When you are in the "Settings > Product Category Configuration" screen, you can mouse over the various categories. It will display the display ID in a bubble popup, this allows you to quickly see the display IDs of the various categories and edit only the ones that require change. Lower IDs are displayed higher in the hierarchy.
