Processing a Return

This option enables you to process Sales Returns from any sales channel using the POS.

To create a return, log in to the POS channel.

  • Click the icon on the left menu panel. The following pop-up window is displayed.

If this is a New Sales Return not originating from a previous sale at this store, then leave the Sales Order Number field blank and click OK.

The following page is displayed.

  • Enter customer name (if applicable).
  • Enter the products/quantities to be returned.
  • Select a payment method. For details on how the customer receives their refund for various payment types, click here.
  • Click the "Checkout" button to complete the sales return.

When entering the order number in the Sales Order Number field (regardless of originating sales channel) and on clicking OK, the following page is displayed.

Make changes to the order as needed.

  • Add/remove products and quantities from the order.
  • By default, the payment method on the original sales order will appear as the payment method for refund on the Sales Return. For details on how the customer receives their refund for various payment types, click here.
  • To select a different payment method, select the "" icon to clear the current payment type.

  • Select the new payment type and enter the amount to refund the customer.

  • Click the "Checkout" button to complete the sales return.

Upon checkout, one of the following options for receipt printing will be available depending on configuration setup in the sales channel:

  • (A) The printable version of the receipt and the printer selection dialog for printing. (Only if the "Customer Receipt Option" was set to "Print" during the POS channel setup).
  • (B) An email entry dialog to email receipt to the customer (Only if the "Customer Receipt Option" was set to "Email" during the POS channel setup).
  • (C) Nothing if the "Customer Receipt Option" was set to "None" during the POS channel setup.

The POS is now ready to process a new transaction. Click the "Sales" button to go back to processing customer purchases.

The Sales Return now displays in the back office under Orders > Sales Returns.
